ECCOE Landsat Cal/Val Team continually monitors performance active missions makes adjustments, as needed, to maintain data at highest level. This report provides observed analysis results for Landsats 7–8 quarter 1 (January–March) 2023. All used compile presented in this are freely available from EarthExplorer website: https://earthexplorer.usgs.gov.One specific activity that closely monitored was a 8 safehold anomaly. On January 26, 2023, Global Positioning System (GPS) onboard became invalid because GPS fault tripped. Later same day, reinitialized, but Field View trip occurred early next morning, causing observatory go into Point Safe mode, which put Operational Land Imager (OLI) Thermal Infrared Sensor (TIRS) safehold. Once it safe reactivate sensors, OLI transitioned operational status late 27 TIRS reactivated 28. Validation of the Calibration Coefficient of the GaoFen-1 PMS Sensor Using the Landsat 8 OLI
The panchromatic and multispectral (PMS) sensor is an optical imaging sensor aboard the Gao Fen-1 (GF-1) satellite. This work describes an approach to validate the calibration coefficients of the PMS sensors based on the image data of the Landsat 8 Operational Land Imager (OLI). Two image pairs, one obtained over the Dunhuang test site and the other over the Golmud test site, were used in this ...
متن کاملSentinel-1 Precise Orbit Calibration and Validation
In this paper, we propose a model-based procedure to calibrate and validate Sentinel-1 orbit products by the Multi-Squint (MS) phase. The technique allows to calibrate an interferometric pair geometry by refining the slave orbit with reference to the orbit of a master image. Accordingly, we state the geometric model of the InSAR phase as function of positioning errors of targets and slave track...

متن کاملCalibration and Validation of Landsat Tree Cover in the Taiga-Tundra Ecotone
Monitoring current forest characteristics in the taiga ́tundra ecotone (TTE) at multiple scales is critical for understanding its vulnerability to structural changes. A 30 m spatial resolution Landsat-based tree canopy cover map has been calibrated and validated in the TTE with reference tree cover data from airborne LiDAR and high resolution spaceborne images across the full range of boreal for...
